為了培養(yǎng)同學(xué)們良好的書寫習(xí)慣，幫助學(xué)生更好地了解中國傳統(tǒng)文化，西安高新一中南校區(qū)高二年級英語備課組于5月19日至5月23日舉行了英語書寫比賽活動。

       In order to cultivate students’ good writing habits in English and enlarge students’ knowledge about Chinese traditional culture, we held an English handwriting competition this month.

 

學(xué)生們利用周末在網(wǎng)上搜集資料，充分發(fā)揮想象力和藝術(shù)才能，通過此次比賽充分了解我國傳統(tǒng)文化的各個方面。  

Students made good use of their weekend to search for information from the Internet, fly their imagination and creative minds by designing. Through this competition, students learned about Chinese traditional culture from different aspects.

 

經(jīng)過同學(xué)們精心的設(shè)計，一張張別具一格的書寫得以呈現(xiàn)在我們眼前。中國傳統(tǒng)文化的多樣性異彩紛呈，精美流暢的文字在同學(xué)的奇思妙想中躍動，美輪美奐的插圖在同學(xué)們的丹青妙筆下綻放。

After the students’ careful design, beautiful handwritings were displayed in front of us, including varieties of Chinese traditional culture, beautifully written calligraphy and eye-catching illustrations.

 

中國節(jié)日(Chinese Festivals)

端午節(jié)（The Dragon Boat Festival）

端午節(jié)是為了紀(jì)念詩人屈原而衍生出來的，這一天必不可少的活動逐漸演變?yōu)椋撼贼兆?，賽龍舟，掛菖蒲、艾葉，薰蒼術(shù)、白芷，喝雄黃酒。

 The Dragon Boat Festival was held in memory of great Chinese poet, Qu Yuan. At the festival, people watch boating races and eat Zong Zi.           

  

中秋節(jié)（Mid-autumn Festival）

每年農(nóng)歷八月十五日，是傳統(tǒng)的中秋佳節(jié)。遠(yuǎn)在他鄉(xiāng)的游子，借月亮寄托自己對故鄉(xiāng)和親人的思念之情。

 Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as Chinese Moon Festival, takes place at the 15th day of the eighth Chinese lunar month. The reason for celebrating the festival during that time is that it is the time when the moon is at its fullest and brightest.

 

  

春節(jié)（the Spring Festival）

農(nóng)歷正月初一是春節(jié)，俗稱“過年”。春節(jié)是農(nóng)歷新年的第一天，中華民族最隆重的傳統(tǒng)佳節(jié)，已超過4000多年的歷史。   

Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, has more than 4,000 years of history. It is the grandest and the most important annual event for Chinese people.

茶是中國的民族飲品，中國茶就像漢字歷史悠久，是中國悠久歷史和文化的重要組成部分。中國茶與中國的道教，佛教和儒教密切相關(guān)。

Tea is the national drink in China. Chinese tea just as Chinese character has a long history, and serves as an important part of Chinese long-standing history and culture. Chinese tea is connected closely with Chinese Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism.

Traditional Chinese medicine is a style of traditional medicine built on a foundation of more than 2,500 years of Chinese medical practice that includes various forms of herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage (tui na)and dietary therapy.

 

Chinese Printing 印刷術(shù)  

印刷術(shù)是中國古代勞動人民的四大發(fā)明之一。雕版印刷術(shù)發(fā)明于唐朝，并在唐朝中后期普遍使用。

The Chinese invented printing centuries before the west.

 

中國服飾(Chinese Clothing)  

Chinese Hanfu 漢服

漢服，是中國“衣冠上國”、“禮儀之邦”的體現(xiàn)，承載了漢族的染織繡等杰出工藝和美學(xué)，傳承了30多項中國非物質(zhì)文化遺產(chǎn)以及受保護(hù)的中國工藝美術(shù)。

 Hanfu is a term associated with the Hanfu movement used to refer to the historical/traditional dress of the Han people.

 

 

中國曲藝 (Chinese Opera )

中國戲曲主要是由民間歌舞、說唱和滑稽戲三種不同藝術(shù)形式綜合而成。它起源于原始歌舞，是一種歷史悠久的綜合舞臺藝術(shù)樣式。

 Traditional Chinese opera is a popular form of drama and musical theatre in China with roots going back to the early periods in China.

 

  

中國民間藝術(shù) (Chinese Folk Arts)

中國傳統(tǒng)的裝飾結(jié)，又稱“中國結(jié)”。它是中國特有的民間藝術(shù)。

Traditional Chinese decorative knot, also known as Chinese knot, is typical folk arts of China.

 

 

Chinese Kite 風(fēng)箏

風(fēng)箏是由古代勞動人民發(fā)明于中國東周春秋時期，至今已2000多年。相傳墨翟以木頭制成木鳥，研制三年而成，是人類最早的風(fēng)箏起源。后來魯班用竹子，改進(jìn)墨翟的風(fēng)箏材質(zhì)。直至東漢期間，蔡倫改進(jìn)造紙術(shù)后，坊間才開始以紙做風(fēng)箏，稱為“紙鳶”。  

 In ancient China the kite was known as 'Zhiyuan' (paper glede). Originally regarded as a technology, it also featured prominently in many art collections, and was considered to have unique artistic value.

中國剪紙是一種用剪刀或刻刀在紙上剪刻花紋，用于裝點(diǎn)生活或配合其他民俗活動的民間藝術(shù)。

 Chinese paper cutting, or Jianzhi, is a kind of folk art which uses scissors or knives to cut papers for decoration or other folk activities.

蔡元培曾說：“書寫藝術(shù),多指用筆寫字的藝術(shù)，分為硬筆和軟筆兩種。中國畫與書法為緣,而多含文學(xué)之趣味.”

 Chinese calligraphy is a form of aesthetically pleasing writing and the artistic expression of human language in a tangible form.

愛德華.波諾說“毫無疑問，創(chuàng)造力是最重要的資源。沒有創(chuàng)造力，就沒有進(jìn)步，我們就會永遠(yuǎn)重復(fù)同樣的模式。”因此，培養(yǎng)創(chuàng)造力對于中學(xué)生來說是至關(guān)重要的。

Edward de Bono said, “There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without creativity, there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns.” Therefore, it is essential to cultivate students’ creativity.

  

最后，此次活動得到了全體高二年級老師和同學(xué)的支持和幫助，有效地將英語書寫與中國傳統(tǒng)文化相結(jié)合，不僅提高了學(xué)生的書寫能力，還提高了學(xué)生藝術(shù)創(chuàng)造力，更促進(jìn)了學(xué)生對于中國傳統(tǒng)文化的了解，加深了民族認(rèn)同感和自豪感。

Finally, this activity was a success with the participation of all the students and English teachers in Grade 2. It was a combination of handwriting and Chinese traditional culture, from which the students not only improved their English handwriting, also they enhanced the creativity of art. Moreover, they obtained a better understanding of Chinese culture and will take more pride in our own traditional culture.
